Shanghai to Beijing

Today I do not know if it is that we are STILL jet lagged or that I could not sleep as I was afraid I would not get our wake up call. I woke up at 2:00 am and then ever hour after that. Finally time to leave at 6:30 am on our way to Pudong Airport to Beijing.

After a two and ½ hours we arrive in Beijing and then to the 4 Points by Sheraton in Beijing. We check in and then off to the Silk Market.

Silk Market (a.k.a. Xiushui Silk Market) is a multi-floor (7 Floors to be exact) shopping complex in the Beijing Downtown. It is famous for fake branded goods such as Coach and Prada purse, RayBan glasses, iPod, Silk scarves, Jeans, chienes crafts and Clothes, Jade, Jewerly and you name it. It's also famous for extreme bargaining. And you may be surprised how extreme is extreme. It’s all about haggling!!!

We had dinner there at Quanjude

Roast Duck Restaurant. Here we are eating duck.

UPDATE 10/27: Too tired last night that I forgot a few things. On our way to the Silk market our taxi driver spent the major of the time picking his nose. This is a little common here men picking their noses.

The other thing that we saw is two little boys with pants that have a split opening in their crotch so that they can pee when they have too. I was not surprised about this as I had read about this before. What blew our minds is that he did this in the Silk market. We where on the level where the jewelers are. So imagine being at the mall and your son squats and pees and there is a puddle of pee on the floor!!! What next!
