November 3, 2008 - GOTCHA DAY!

Today we woke up at 7:00 am to get ready to meet Chong Si Xin soon to be Mei Lin Castro. They picked us up at 9:00 am to go to the government office that processes the paper work. We arrived around 9:50 am and they still had not arrived from the orphanage. The drive from the orphanage is 3 hours away.

Today the day is over casted as if it were to rain. We arrived to 3 story building and went up the stairs to the 2nd floor. On this floor is where they issue the marriage licenses and process all adoptions. We proceed to the office of adoptions. When I entered the office all these emotions started, happy, nervous and I want to cry all at the same time. Before the emotions took over the staff of the office came out.

The director of the office introduced herself and explained that the process takes 5 days. 1st day is to meet the baby, 2nd day is when we do all the paper work, 3rd day the govt. process all the paper work, 4th day we get her passport and on the 5th day we receive all her paper work for the adoption.

While we waited we filled out our information that needed to be verified and they checked our passports. I awesume it's to verify that it is us. We also had to sign a piece of paper that states we have 24 hours to accept our daughter. Then we finished the paper work, we went window to anxiously awaiting their arrival.

As we were looking out to see when they arrived as we turned around they were behind us. Chong Si Xin arrived with one of her nanny’s and the Orphanage Director at 10:40 am.

Here is Chong Si Xin with the Nanny and with Daddy.

With Mami.

Here we are the Orphanage Director, Mami, Daddy, Chong Si Xin and the Nanny.

By 11:20 am we were on our way back to the hotel. Rey give her, her 1st bottle and then we put her down to sleep. While that only lasted 20 about minutes. She woke up for about an hour, I changed her diaper and gave her a yogurt and she played for about an hour and went to sleep again. It has been about 2 hours now.

Here she sleeps with Daddy!!

Awesome! Mei Lin looks so teeny tiny in her Daddy's arms. I am sure she has him wrapped her teeny tiny finger already.
Congratulations.
